Tashkent, Uzbekistan — The President of the World Digital Sports Alliance (WDSA), Mr. Kenneth Fok, attended the 46th Plenary Session of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in Uzbekistan, participating in the Assembly in his capacity as Vice President of the Sports Federation and the Hong Kong Olympic Committee, China.

The high-level Assembly brought together representatives from the Olympic Committees of 45 Asian countries and regions, serving as a key platform to review major continental sporting developments and strengthen international cooperation. The agenda covered a comprehensive review of the recently concluded Harbin Winter Asian Games, preparations for the upcoming Asian Beach Games in Sanya scheduled for April, and progress updates on the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games to be held in Japan this September.

As Head of Delegation for Hong Kong, China at the forthcoming Asian Games, the President paid particular attention to the organisational and operational readiness of the host cities, reaffirming Hong Kong’s commitment to active participation and excellence at Asia’s premier multi-sport event.

A central focus of the visit was the promotion of the 28th ANOC General Assembly, which will be hosted in Hong Kong from 7 to 10 December this year. Leveraging the international platform of the OCA Assembly, the President introduced the event to global sports leaders, outlining key arrangements and highlighting Hong Kong’s role as a strategic hub for international sports governance.

In addition, he shared the broader development vision of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, emphasizing its population of over 87 million and GDP exceeding RMB 14.5 trillion. He underscored the region’s vast potential for the global sports industry and highlighted sports as a powerful channel to “tell the story of China” through international collaboration, innovation, and cultural exchange.

The Assembly also marked a significant leadership transition within the OCA, with Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani of Qatar elected as the new President following a decisive vote. The President of WDSA extended his congratulations, noting the longstanding and growing partnership between Hong Kong and Qatar, particularly in the field of sports development. He expressed confidence that future cooperation between China, Hong Kong, and Qatar would continue to deepen under the new OCA leadership.

Over the course of two days, he engaged extensively with international sports leaders, promoted Hong Kong’s hosting of major global sports events, and reinforced the city’s role in advancing international sports cooperation.

The visit reaffirmed Hong Kong’s active presence on the global sports stage and reflected WDSA’s ongoing commitment to contributing to the development of sports in China and across Asia, while fostering stronger international partnerships.
