Hanoi, Vietnam – 16 April 2026 – A high-level seminar titled “Developing the Digital Sports Movement in the Future” was held at OEG Stadium, bringing together key stakeholders from esports, digital sports, technology, and government sectors.
The event was co-hosted by the World Digital Sports Alliance (WDSA), the National Olympic Committee of Vietnam, the Vietnam Recreational and Electronic Sports Association (VIRESA), and Ocean Entertainment Group (OEG).

The seminar convened representatives from government bodies, national sports organizations, and industry leaders to explore the rapid evolution of sports driven by artificial intelligence, robotics, and digital technologies.
Opening speeches were delivered by Mr. Do Viet Hung, President of VIRESA; Mr. Sebastian Lau, General Secretary of WDSA; and Dr. Tran Van Manh, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Vietnam.

In his remarks, Mr. Lau highlighted the transformative impact of emerging technologies on the global sports ecosystem. He also noted that advancements in AI and robotics are reshaping how sports are played, trained, and experienced, while underscoring the importance of partnerships in building sustainable digital sports ecosystems.
A key highlight of the event was the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), marking significant steps toward regional and international collaboration.

The MOU between WDSA, represented by Mr. Sebastian Lau, and VIRESA, represented by Ms. Cao Thi Thu Phuong, General Secretary, aims to advance the development of electronic and digital sports in Vietnam and China, and to explore opportunities for hosting events in both countries.

Another MOU was signed between Digital Sports World (DSW), represented by its Co-founder and CEO Mr. Sebastian Lau, and OEG, represented by CEO Mr. Bui Anh Tuan. This partnership focuses on creating opportunities for digital companies to connect with industries in Greater China (Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China, and Taiwan) and Vietnam, while supporting future digital sports initiatives.
"This marks a strong starting point for collaboration with Vietnam’s national esports federation and leading digital and entertainment sports companies, under the guidance of the National Olympic Committee of Vietnam,” said Mr. Lau.
These agreements reflect a shared commitment to promoting innovation, strengthening industry frameworks, and expanding opportunities within the digital sports ecosystem.
